New homeowners – know your rights!
Our team is seeing an increase in home buyers finding faulty electrics in their new property.
Under the terms of the “Scottish Standard Clauses” you have a period of five working days from when you move into your new home to intimate any defects to your solicitor.
In one case this week we found an extremely dangerous consumer unit, which appeared to be new from the outside (see image).
If you are unsure about the safety and quality of your electrics, we recommend asking an electrician to inspect the property, either before you purchase or within five days of taking ownership.
